A clearer way to learn guitar, rooted in structure.

Learning the guitar has never been more difficult.

There is an endless amount of information available, making it nearly impossible to know where to begin. Because of this, many guitarists spend countless hours bouncing between YouTube videos, online lessons, exercises, songs, and random pieces of advice, only to end up making very little progress, if any at all.

Guitar Gridiron was built by guitar players, for guitar players, and our philosophy is simple:

A structured approach makes learning anything easier, guitar is no different.

We cut through the noise to deliver one clear vision: a sports-science approach to learning the guitar.

We believe every player can be objectively evaluated for their strengths and weaknesses, and that a personalized plan can be built around their goals to maximize progress.

This is the fastest and most effective way to improve, and thousands of students have already experienced major breakthroughs using this methodology.

While music itself is creative and subjective, the process of improving is not.

It comes down to two things:

  • Practicing the right things.

  • Practicing those things the right way.

If you do those things consistently, you will improve. Period.

That's exactly what Guitar Gridiron is here to provide: a structured roadmap for guitar players who are serious about making progress.

Our Founder

Hello! I'm Trent.

I've been playing guitar for twenty years. For most of it, I was your typical self-taught player — bouncing around from one lesson to the next, learning songs randomly, noodling, and frequently hitting plateaus.

My fate changed when I received a scholarship to study guitar at the University of Miami. That's where I learned the value of having a structured plan to make progress, and I immediately fell in love with guitar education.

My first real experience with how impactful guitar education can be came during my time working under Steve Stein at GuitarZoom. I saw how guitar lessons could not only positively impact someone's playing and progress, but change their entire relationship with the instrument — and ultimately change their life. Shortly after I started Trent Jones Guitar Academy, where I got the opportunity to work with hundreds of students and help them achieve breakthroughs, create massive progress and growth, and find a newfound passion for the guitar.

But I wanted to do something bigger, and so here we are.

Guitar Gridiron is the result of everything I've learned while on my guitar journey. It is my life's work, and I couldn't be more honored to do for other players, what good teaching did for me.
